The St John Ambulance (Qld) Moreton Bay Division is calling out for donations ahead of a garage sale to raise vital funds for young Cadets.
Division member Lindy Blythe said all money raised would go towards purchasing vital equipment and training resources for both St John Ambulance and SES.
“Continually training our youth in important lifesaving skills such as CPR, bleeding management or even how to operate a defibrillator could one day mean the difference between life and death.”
The Division will be hosting a garage sale, sausage sizzle, car wash and cake stall on Saturday 29 August from 7am to 1pm to raise the funds. The fundraiser will be held at the SES car park, Portwood Street, Redcliffe. All donations great and small would be warmly appreciated.
“St John Ambulance and SES will use all funds raised to continue training of volunteer members and purchase equipment such as first aid kits, defibrillators, stretchers and bandages.”
“All of this equipment will be used across the Moreton Bay region at day-to-day duties such as the Redcliffe Show as well as being deployed in emergency disasters such as floods or cyclones,” Lindy said.
The Moreton Bay Division has grown to more than 68 members, making it one of the largest Divisions in Queensland. The Division has received several awards including 2014 Division of the Year award for their outstanding leadership and citizenship for first aid contribution to the local community.
“Every weekend, our Cadets are out in the community providing first aid to Moreton Bay residents. This fundraiser provides the public with the opportunity to thank them for the noble work they are doing.”
